This is a section kind of like the Personal Reviews but more Indepth.
I shall talk more about what I Like/Hate & other stuff.

FAVOURITE SILENT HILL: Silent Hill 3, then Silent Hill 2
THINGS I LIKED ABOUT SILENT HILL:
The first game set the tone for the series, so I appreciate it for starting
the rolling snowball to form the awesome games of today. It had a different side of horror, where as other games back then
were into Zombies & Mummys & Werewolves. Silent Hill was different, with more twisted darkness.
THINGS I HATED ABOUT SILENT HILL:
To be honest, it was boring. Even though it stood out from other games, it
wasn't entirely anything new. As strange as it sounds, it was different BUT it wasn't. And in this day and age the graphics
and horror has worn off. The plot took ages to get going, 80% of the game was just Harry looking for Cheryl. The game started
and died fast. Once you played the first hour, you had played it all.
FAVOURITE ENDING: The Good + Ending. It added more story to the game due to
the lack of it in gameplay.
FAVOURITE STAGE: Probably Midwhich School. It looked twisted when it shifts
to the otherworld.
HATED STAGE: The streets, way too much fighting and very little effect on
the game.
FAVOURITE SCENE: When Lisa morphs to a monster.
FAVOURITE CHARACTER: I would say Lisa Garland. She was really the only character
the game refered to the most besides Alessa, and she made the story more interesting, with Harry always awakening with her.
THINGS I LIKED ABOUT SILENT HILL 2:
Ok this one was great. I liked nearly everything about it.
The characters were interesting, the plot was twisted and emotional. There
wasn't tons of action and gore, but more storyline and creepy puzzles and stuff. It was great. I liked how it didn't continue
down the exact same path as Silent Hill (1). It doesn't mention a fire, Alessa, Dahlia or anything like that. But it does
make you think. Why are monsters existing in Silent Hill when it isn't about Alessa haunting and her fears putting them
there? I think it may seem like Alessa & the past have nothing to do with this game, but I think a little 1% of it does.
If you have played this up to the Hospital, you should remember that it switched over to the Alternate/Other World, showing
the nightmare side of it, and also the fans & valves. This only happens once. And you should know that these represent
Alessas' nightmares, and the fans/valves represent her Life & Death cycles. I think that even though Alessa has nothing
to do with James, he is just caught up in the aftermath of the first game. Like an innocent bystander. Or also because Alessa
has been watching? She despises James because he gave up Mary just like Dahlia gave up Alessa because she was different. (I.E
Alessa having powers & Mary having an illness).
So she created the letter & put the enemies there to torture James before
he kills himself anyway.
THINGS I HATED ABOUT SILENT HILL 2:
Hard to answer that. I think the time spent wondering the streets dragged
on too much. That's all really.
FAVOURITE ENDING: It may seem strange but I don't think the "Best" ending,
'Leave' was actually the best one. My personal favourite was the 'In Water' ending. For one it is more sad & tragic. You
get enough info to find out what the whole game was about, so there's no disappointment there. But it shows that James still
went ahead with his plans to commit suicide, and die like every other character in Silent Hill 2 is fated to do. So in a way,
James gets his satisfaction, and Silent Hill still wins. It's a win-win situation. Also in Silent Hill 4 you get informed
that James never made it out, so put it together.
FAVOURITE STAGE: Brookhaven Hospital for me. But I also think the Apartments
were really good, preferably Blue Creek Apartments.
HATED STAGE: The Prison, that annoyed me for some reason. It dragged on and
had very little impact on the game.
FAVOURITE SCENE: I have 2 actually. The one with Maria talking to James in
the prison, and when Angela walks up the stairs of fire.
FAVOURITE CHARACTER: Angela Orosco, she made the story so much more emotional
and stuff, with her cruel past and unstablility. (If that's a word?)
THINGS I LIKED ABOUT SILENT HILL 3:
Once again, I loved it! This is my favourite in the series. It focuses on
being a sequel to the first, but makes it much better. The horror effect on this was through the roof, and it also kept an
interesting plot. The action was good but didn't over do it like Silent Hill 1 + 4. The locations were the best yet, and I
liked the whole 'Half in Heathers' Town/Half in Silent Hill' idea. And there is one kool secret I liked alot, if you
go to "Heavens Night" when you are in Silent Hill, you will see the brochure on the table that James can read in Silent Hill
2 in the Apartments.
THINGS I HATED ABOUT SILENT HILL 3:
Like before, this is a hard question. I didn't hate anything about it, but
maybe more time could of been spent in the streets of Silent Hill. Instead of just being used to go from A to B twice. I'm
not saying that this sucked, but a little touch up couldn't have hurt. It still owned even without it though.
FAVOURITE ENDING: Well there are only 2 really, excluding the UFO ending.
The best is the normal ending.
FAVOURITE STAGE: Brookhaven Hospital for sure. The Underground Passage was
also awesome. I loved walking waist deep in water, blasting the enemies with a rifle.
HATED STAGE: The Subway! That really bugged me. I despise it.
FAVOURITE SCENE: The scene when Heather & Douglas drive to Silent Hill,
masterpiece.
FAVOURITE CHARACTER: Besides Heather, I loved Vincent. He was evil but he
was good and intelligent. Like a good villian as I describe him. He was the most interesting character.
THINGS I LIKED ABOUT SILENT HILL 4: THE ROOM:
Gee, shortist list this will be lol. Well the whole plot about Henry being
locked in his apartment & using Holes to enter places, that was excellent. And carrying on the Walter Sullivan stuff from
Silent Hill 2 was clever as well, and James' father too. But the best thing was probably the Soundtrack! That's it really.
THINGS I HATED ABOUT SILENT HILL 4: THE ROOM:
The way the whole game panned out. Enemies sucked, no bosses except the last
which sucked, no horror value at all which sucked, the fact there was no otherworld sucked. It turned out pretty terrible.
It was like a totally different game all together. Eileen followed Henry for
far too long, that sucked! lol. You get the point.
FAVOURITE ENDING:
I'd say the best one, 'Escape'. They were all so short, so they also sucked.
FAVOURITE STAGE: I think the Water Prison was the only stage I liked really.
Maybe the Return To The Apartment World as well.
HATED STAGE: The rest of them. Especially the Forest.
FAVOURITE SCENE: When Cynthia dies with all the blood in the Subway world.
That was art.
FAVOURITE CHARACTER: I honestly don't know. I think maybe just the main character,
Henry Townshend. Eileen would've been great if she wasn't crippled throughout the whole damn game!
SILENT HILL MOVIE:
Well I can't exactly do a favourite stages thing and all that, so I'll just
give it a few thoughts. I really really liked this film. I like it better than the first actual Silent Hill game, and also
The Room. The story was very interesting and it didn't over-do it by stuffing it full of action. They did an awesome job on
it, and I think it's the best movie ever adapted from a game. (Besides Mortal Kombat, that owns!) That's all I can say really,
the music from the games was put into it to make it even better, the monsters were total freaks, and the ending was pretty
sick & confusing. Very Silent Hill-ish. The fact they didn't copy the games 100% was a great idea, by making Dahlia a
sought of good person instead of an evil witch lady summoning a demon, it worked out well. Critics on TV gave it '1 Star
out of 5' I give it 5/5 lol.
Well there you have it, I'll update these further down the track when Silent
Hill Origins & 5 becomes apart of my collection. Until then, Sayonara!
